What is Music Teacher Wellbeing?

“For me, the word balance is the important thing… also getting the right mindset so that my spirit can enjoy the simple things, making sure that I’m feeling calm and grateful for all the small things as well.”

What is Music Teacher Wellbeing?

In these trying times, it’s even more important for music teachers to start looking after themselves because it can be a stressful existence, as well as a joyful existence. How do you look after yourselves?

When you live your passion, the first word that comes to mind is boundaries – who are you outside of music. It is important to work on the non-musical elements of your personality because ultimately we live in a tech age and everybody is interested in yourself as a personal brand. Like what are your non-musical hobbies? What’s your quality? What’s your character? What do you post everyday? How do you look after yourself as well? So wellbeing means boundaries. But it also means adventure because you can explore something completely different and supercharge yourself into music in a way.
